Latest announcements from LadyBird Computing are now available on Twitter and Google+ - why not "Follow" us

Welcome to the latest additionto the ladyBird Computing website - news and comments on what's happening in the world of technology or the internet.

First up is an announcement that LadyBird Computing is now on both Twitter and Google+. It's early days so there's not a huge lot to see on there, but please do try to take a look and perhaps follow us, leave nice comments, ask questions etc. Whenever I see anything useful or important in the Twitter world I'll be re-tweeting it as well - so you can see some of the latest tweets in the section at the right. I promise all tweets will be relevant and worthwhile.

Next is a note about Get Safe Online Week which Get Safe Online Week is your opportunity to pass on online safety tips to friends, family, colleagues, neighbours or even strangers who you think may benefit from the advice. is coming up from 22nd to 26th October. Get Safe Online is a jointly funded initiative between the government and businesses, aiming to help everyone to stay safe with everything they do online. The aim for the Get Safe Online Week in October is fairly simple – all they want is for people to pass on a piece of advice to at least one other person. There will be “Click & Tell” Roadshows running in a few major cities (Cardiff, London, Leeds, Edinburgh and Belfast), fun and games on their website, and hopefully lots of general advertising in the press. Further information can be found on the Click & Tell section of the Get Safe Online website - http://clickandtell.getsafeonline.org/.

LadyBird Computing is now contributing to the Green Book

Finally for now, I've written an article for the Green Book (officially the Over Wyre and Garstang Focus Magazines) on the subject of the Get Safe Online Week. As a result, I've now been asked to contribute some security items on a regular basis. So hopefully I'll be able to help a few people to have a safer and more enjoyable online experience. Once published, article will be included here in the Archive area.

Following on from this, there will be a new Online Safety section in this website in the near future - watch this space, or follow me on Twitter to see an announcement.
